The Secret Arts

The film, which can be understood as an audio-visual experiment in contemporary ethnography, offers a possible avenue of basic research into the phenomenon of magic and associated magical worldviews. We thus want to provide an exciting insight into certain magical practices as well as ideas. In doing so, we try to locate their place in the everyday life of different local cultures. Our aim is to present different conceptual approaches to the study of magic. And we do this through four central systems of classification - everyday culture, art, science and faith. We ask ourselves, for example, whether it is possible that magic still determines the everyday life of many people and where we can still encounter this kind of thinking and acting today?
